Editing Pages
This bit is really easy. Just follow the steps!
Now, if you want to edit the "adopt.php", "shoutbox.php", "trade.php", "stats.php", "actions.php", "pets.php" or "myadopts.php" then continue on!
AdoptPageText = adopt.php
ShoutboxText = shoutbox.php
TradeText = trade.php
StatsPageText = stats.php
ActionsPageText = actions.php
PetsPageText = pets.php
ManagePageText = myadopts.php
6. And then edit the title and content as you wish! Those listed above, are the only default pages you can edit.
- Log in to your adoptables site.
- Go to your Admin Control Panel www.YOURSITE.myadopts.com/admin.php.
- Go to "Change Content".
- The cog icon means "edit" or "modify" and the big red cross is "delete" or "remove". Click on the cog next to index.
- Now you can edit the content of your home page! Remember, MyAdopts doesn't allow HTML, so you'll have to use BBCODE. Oh and, there's an extra BBCODE that looks something like this: [urlsame=URLlinkHERE]LinkTextHere[/urlsame]. "Urlsame" means that the link will open in the same tab and not in a new tab/window. If you want it to open in a new tab/window, take the "same" away from the tags resulting with: [url=URLlinkHERE]LinkTextHere[/url]. The "URLlinkHERE" is the website address you want the link to direct to, and the "LinkTextHere" is the link words... e.g. Google [url] and here's another one with Google [urlsame]. See the difference? One opens in the same tab/window, and the other opens in a new tab/window!
- Once you've finished placing the content, click "Edit Page Content" and go back to the page manager, and then click the cog next to "tos".
- TOS stands for Terms of Service, basically, rules. You can have any rules you like, however it must not be against the MAToS here.
- And then click "Edit Page Content", now go back to the page manager and you will find "Add a new page", you can add a new page.
- The page URL is basically, the page URL, you cannot have special characters in it. If you type in "staff", then the complete page URL would be: http://www.YOURSITE.myadopts.com/pages.php?page=staff notice that staff is after "pages.php?page="? it's NOT www.YOURSITE.myadopts.com/staff. This is important because you don't want to type links wrong.
Now, if you want to edit the "adopt.php", "shoutbox.php", "trade.php", "stats.php", "actions.php", "pets.php" or "myadopts.php" then continue on!
- Log in.
- Go to your ACP.
- Click on "Change Content".
- Click on "Add a new page".
